Tornadoes In Massachusetts

This spring has been awful in terms of tornadoes. On Wednesday afternoon, several tornadoes touched down about 20 minutes from my home in western Massachusetts. Tornadoes are not very common in Massachusetts and when they do hit, they are usually weak. At least one of the tornadoes that struck Springfield, MA and several neighboring towns has been rated E-F3 with winds between 136-166 MPH. Many homes have been reduced to rubble and many others condemned because of severe damage.

For the month of June, all proceeds from TVD Crafts will be donated to the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Red Cross to assist the victims of the tornadoes. http://www.redcross.org/

Success

Getting the coaster set and letter to Ian did not go as smoothly as I hoped it would, but I am fairly certain he did get it (thanks to Rob Pralgo’s wonderful handler Virginia). I do know for a fact that Ian knows TVD Crafts for Charity exists and he is excited about it because I got to tell him about it at 4:30am at a gas station. Learned a valuable lesson that night regarding being prepared as the gift and letter were sitting in the hotel room.

My hope is that now that Ian knows about TVD Crafts, it will pave the way to more orders and money for the charities. I really enjoy making these items for you and hope you all enjoy using them!

Awesome News

I apologize for the inactiveness this past month with TVD Crafts. I found out I’m pregnant in late January and have been hit hard with fatigue and morning sickness.

However, that is not the good news I want to share with you. The good news is that the TVD Eyecon Convention is right around the corner. Ian will be attending on behalf of his foundation and I have purchased a photo op with him to guarantee that I will meet him. I will have the coaster set as well as a note with the names of everyone who has purchased crafts so far ready to give to him.

today is Ian Somerhalder’s 32nd birthday!! I had a goal for TVD Crafts for Charity to raise $100 for the foundation in time for Ian’s birthday! I’m happy to announce that the goal was reached! So far, $109.35 has been raised for the IS Foundation!

But I don’t want to stop there! The next goal is to get the total up to $150 as a Christmas present for Ian.

This spring

Sometime this spring I will be taking a trip to GA to see the TVD set. My hope is that I will be able to meet Ian Somerhalder (and maybe other cast too) while I am there. I have made Ian this coaster set:

I would like to hand deliver it to him along with a list of all the ppl who have purchased a tvd craft for charity between August and whenever I go. It’s gonna be a little thank you gift for being such an amazing inspiration to us all!
